Tour Profile
NO PUBLIC TOURS SINCE 2012 (see below as to why), nor can smaller groups be added together. Sorry.
Our reserved, private tours (groups of 15 or larger, please) encompass the rich traditions and history of one of America's oldest seaports. We generally follow a broad blueprint of the area's coastline covering highlights of NINE National Historic Landmarks, all within the 18 miles of the U.S. smallest coast.
They include but are not limited to:
- Wentworth Hotel, host of the delegates to the "Treaty of
Portsmouth". 1905.
- Albacore Park, "world's fastest diesel submarine". 1955. Last
one before Nautilus.
- John Paul Jones, Langdon, Moffatt Ladd, Warner Houses, etc.
Countless others.
- Strawbery Banke, "America's oldest continuously occupied
neighborhood".
- Portsmouth Navy Yard, "America's oldest Federal Yard" and
infamous prison.
- Odiorne Point/Seacoast Science Center, site of third oldest
English settlement. 1623.
- Many, many others(don't want to give them all away)!
Our historical tour and area background is offered at NO EXTRA CHARGE to our private charter clients who are interested in the subject matter. Others need a group size of 15 or more from the same group or family, rates as follows:
- Adults 13 and over........$23 per person.
- Children 12 and under...$18 per person.
- Seniors, Law enforcement, military....$18 per person.
Tour duration, local pickups only, ABOUT 1.5 hours.
Please inquire about a private charter as, if your group is large enough, is included at NO EXTRA CHARGE and is generally a better value. Seating for up to 32 persons.
We are not affiliated with "coincidentally lookalike", taxpayer funded trolley buses operating locally, something that didn't exist prior to our start up year 1997. For more insight into why we will no longer offer any public access, please click on this link for a cautionary tale:
